Dossier

Bookwork

Dossier uses archival images, photographs and fictional text to posit Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise, Paris, as an archive. A character tails a subject ‘S.’ as she visits the grave of Alphonse Bertillon, proto-criminologist and inventor of the mug shot, then paces out the distance to the Mur des Federes, a monument to those executed following the failed Paris Commune of 1871.
